Our Mission

Kaitlyn’s Kloset – MN is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to providing families with the items they need to raise their children, while also decreasing the stigma that often comes with needing and receiving help. Kaitlyn’s Kloset provides a welcoming space to all people, allowing them to shop through a resource center full of items that they can take home to their children, with no cost or payment involved. When you don’t know where to turn, let Kaitlyn’s Kloset be your village.

Here are two of the key ways we serve:

Drop In Resource Center

Kaitlyn’s Kloset operates a resource center housed out of Saints Martha and Mary Episcopal Church in Eagan, Minnesota. Individuals and families are able to come “shop” (for free) for items for their children, as well as food and personal care items. Shoppers also have the ability to meet with Kaitlyn (a licensed social worker) to discuss community resources and additional help. No appointment is necessary during our drop in hours. New shoppers must arrive a minium of 1 hour prior to close. Current shoppers must arrive a minimum of 45 minutes prior to close.  All are welcome.

Give Help + Get Help Community

Our thriving Facebook-based community of over 23,000 members is designed to connect those in need of a helping hand with those equipped to meet someone’s need. This moderated group is committed to the safety and privacy of its members.

Our Welcome

Kaitlyn’s Kloset provides a welcoming space and services to all people regardless of caregiver status (mother, father, foster parent, caregiver, etc), race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, age, gender, sexual orientation, religion, citizenship, marital status, ability or disability, or any other discriminatory factor.

Simply put, we’re here for you when you need care, comfort, connections, and community.

Our Impact

Since we began in 2015, when Kaitlyn Stock was just in high school, we’ve been honored to impact the lives of thousands of families at times of deepest need. These families often find their way back to our community to return the favor. These statistics reflect the data since we opened our resource center in 2022. We are thrilled to have a location where we can meet families’ needs on an immediate basis, serving an average of 80 families a week.

About Kaitlyn

I am 23 years old and the founder of Kaitlyn’s Kloset – MN. I have lived in Minnesota my whole life and am proud to call it my home. I have a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin – River Falls, and I use my degree in both my work with Kaitlyn’s Kloset and in my daily life. I have had the opportunity to see the world through a lot of people’s eyes which allows me to form connections with the people I serve, while also understanding the circumstances that surround them in their time of need. The biggest thing that Kaitlyn’s Kloset has taught me is how to be an advocate for marginalized groups and people. I am a true believer in the statement that we can change the world, so I’m here to do that.

About Kristen

I am a wife of 26 years and a mother of two grown daughters. I have almost a decade of experience working in both the public and charter school systems. I know first-hand what it feels like to have to make difficult choices while juggling the expenses of raising a family. Helping lessen this burden a bit, with the clients who visit our Resource Center, truly fills my soul. Maintaining a safe space for marginalized populations is very important to me. Audrey Hepburn said it best when she said, “As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself, and the other for helping others.”

About Donna

I am a wife and mother of 3 with 6 grandchildren!

I have always loved to volunteer and give back to my community. Having been homeless myself with my three children, I know what it is to feel so emotional and scared. To feel vulnerable and also to be afraid to ask for help. Maybe even worried that there are others out there who need help worse than me. I want to give back to the community that helped me in my time of need. I want others to understand that at any point in time, we can be the ones facing problems. Life sometimes throws curveballs and to utilize the quote, it takes a village. I am currently working for the State of Minnesota in IT and I love my job. I have worked for them for 15 years. About Kim

I was born in Minnesota, then moved overseas with my family several times throughout my childhood. Living in other countries taught me many lessons, including an appreciation of a supportive and welcoming community when faced with uncertainties and challenges. My husband, Mike, and I are happy to have settled back in Minnesota to raise our two daughters close to family. I am so grateful to be a part of the Kaitlyn’s Kloset community where each and every individual is valued and cared for with kindness, compassion, dignity, and respect.
